Did the legendary Studio Ghibli films like Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and My Neighbour Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and the rest made your childhood extra special? If so, then there’s a great news for you! Twenty-one (21) of Studio Ghibli’s remarkable animations will soon be more accessible to its fans than ever! That’s right, Studio Ghibli films are so soon to be exclusively available on the popular video streaming app, Netflix!

Just this January 20, 2020, Netflix made a tweet about this awesome news. The films can be streamed on Netflix in almost every part of the world, except from Japan, US, and Canada. With this recent collaboration between Studio Ghibli and Netflix, it’s very much understandable for the animation studio’s fans to definitely feel tremendous excitement.

Scheduled Release Date of the Studio Ghibli Films on Netflix

If you’re truly a fan, don’t forget to mark your calendar! Starting this February 1, 2020, Netflix will already be releasing some of Studio Ghibli’s influential films. The 21 animated films will be released in three parts of seven. Read on to see the schedule!

From February 1, 2020, here are the films you’ll be able to stream:

  • Castle in the Sky (1986)
  • My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
  • Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)
  • Only Yesterday (1991)
  • Porco Rosso (1992)
  • Ocean Waves (1993)
  • Tales from Earthsea (2006)

From March 1, 2020, here are the films you’ll be able to stream:

  • Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
  • Princess Mononoke (1997)
  • My Neighbors the Yamadas (1999)
  • Spirited Away (2001)
  • The Cat Returns (2002)
  • Arrietty (2010)
  • The Tale of The Princess Kaguya (2013)

And from April 1, 2020, you’ll be able to stream:

  • Pom Poko (1994)
  • Whisper of the Heart (1995)
  • Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)
  • Ponyo (2008)
  • From Up on Poppy Hill (2011)
  • The Wind Rises (2013)
  • When Marnie Was There (2014)
