Nintendo Acquires Next Level Games

Nintendo has announced that it will be acquiring the video game developer behind Luigi’s Mansion 3 which is the Next Level Games.

Here is what stated in the Notification of the Acquisition of the Canadian Software Developer, Next Level Games Inc.:

“Nintendo Co., Ltd. (HQ: Kyoto Minami-ku; Representative Director and President: Shuntaro Furukawa; hereinafter “Nintendo”) would like to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the outstanding shares of Next Level Games Inc. (HQ: Vancouver, Canada; CEO: Douglas Tronsgard; hereinafter “NLG” and to make it wholly owned subsidiary (the “Acquisition”)”

The game development company Next Level Games is based in Vancouver, Canada.

Also, the said developer has been creating video games for nearly two decades.

In addition, the Canadian game studio has worked with Nintendo in developing software tiles for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch systems.

Furthermore, as stated in the announcement, Nintendo’s acquisition of NLG is expected to be closed on March 1, 2021.
