A Star Wars Easter Egg From Google

Google partnered with Disney to promote the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie with a Star Wars Google Easter egg. Google is making every users excited about the movie by introducing several Star Wars-themed features into its different apps. To activate this feature, you have to first register your account at https://www.google.com/starwars/

Here you can choose between joining the Light Side or the Dark Side. Once activated you get several features customized in your gmail and other Google Apps across your account. For one your gmail progress bar is now a light saber. The Google Maps markers are turned into either a Tie Fighter or a Millenium Falcon depending on which side you chose.

Star Wars Google Easter Egg

Google search also created an easter egg to promote the movie by creating a Search engine results page that scrolls similar to that of the beginning part of Star Wars, with matching Star Wars theme music. How do you activate this easter egg? Simple! Just type “A Long time ago in a galaxy far far away” without the quotes on the Google Search Bar.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in Philippine Cinemas on December 17, 2015, a day ahead of its US opening.
