Mr. Zhang Yuxin, CTO of HUAWEI CLOUD, said during his keynote speech: "Through Cloud Native 2.0, we wish to share with enterprises best practices and models of digital transformation that have been proven to be highly effective and replicable across a wide range of scenarios."

Cloud Native 2.0: new paradigms of digitalization

Pushing the cloud and digitalization to the next stage involves going from simply lifting-and-shifting applications onto the cloud to innovating them to be cloud-native. To this end, HUAWEI CLOUD proposes Cloud Native 2.0 to encourage enterprises to shift from being resource-centric to application-centric, and to build and innovate in the cloud. HUAWEI CLOUD believes that cloud-native is much more than just technology. It means full-scale transformation of organization, architecture, production, mindset, and business model.

As cloud-native adoption widens and deepens in organizations, HUAWEI CLOUD has summarized high-quality practices and expertise from an extensive range of sectors, such as public services, finance, and manufacturing, into ten new paradigms of digitalization, proposing comprehensive solutions that fully utilize the latest cloud-native technologies. In providing Everything as a Service, the scope of Cloud Native 2.0 continues to expand.

According to Mr. Zhang, Huawei’s Cloud Native 2.0 covers the following ten aspects: ubiquity, computing, scheduling, network, Internet of Everything (IoE), applications, data, intelligence, security, and enablement. At the summit, HUAWEI CLOUD also launched a number of new Cloud Native 2.0 products that reflect all of the following features: efficient resources, the ultimate user experience, ubiquitous connectivity, agile applications, intelligent services, security and trustworthiness, and industry enablement.

Among these products is the Ubiquitous Cloud-Native Service (UCS), a seamless, synergized cloud-native foundation for enterprise digitalization, extending cloud-native capabilities to where they are needed.

Adopting a distributed cloud-native approach, Guangqi Honda Automobile containerized dozens of its application systems, such as Internet of Vehicles, new energy vehicle monitoring, store services, after-sales management, and membership system. Going cloud-native hugely improved the carmaker’s computing resource utilization. In leveraging the ubiquitous connectivity enabled by HUAWEI CLOUD’s cloud-native infrastructure, the joint venture is better able to quickly respond to new demand and service requirements, with more choices when it comes to deploying and running application systems.

Four directions and six technologies: application modernization for new capabilities

Mr. Xu Feng, director of HUAWEI CLOUD’s PaaS Product Dept, presented HUAWEI CLOUD’s application modernization strategy as four directions and six technologies. His keynote also announced the Enterprise Application Modernization White Paper and introduced a low-code innovation lab founded in partnership with Chang’an Automobile.

The four directions are four areas of focus for application modernization: infrastructure, architecture design, development and O&M, and governance and operations. The six technologies include serverless, multi-cloud multi-active, DevSecOps, low-code, integrated governance, and blockchain. By focusing on these areas and technologies, enterprises will be able to respond to customer needs faster, accelerate innovation, and make their operations more agile.

Douyu, a leading video streaming service in China, has built an application-centric, cross-cloud, multi-active platform using HUAWEI CLOUD’s Multi-Cloud High Availability Service. This architecture is capable of switching workloads between different clouds in seconds, ensuring zero downtime for hundreds of millions of Douyu users.

State Grid boosted operational efficiency by leveraging the integrated governance capabilities of HUAWEI CLOUD ROMA.

Chang’an Automobile developed its internal management, budgeting, and IOC systems on HUAWEI CLOUD’s low-code platform. Among them, the internal management system of over 7,000 users was developed in just nine days.

China Oil & Gas Pipeline Network Corporation has set its digital strategy to full-scale cloud transformation and Everything as a Service. HUAWEI CLOUD’s containers and microservices, low-code development, and integrated governance were leveraged to build applications for operational security management and eliminated data silos for pipelines and stations. The energy infrastructure operator now enjoys improved regulations, real-time workplace monitoring, and more standardized operations.

Internet of Everything: starting from devices and thriving in cloud

In the past, most IoT use cases were limited to the monitoring of individual devices, with limited data that was not fully utilized. But all this is going to change with HUAWEI CLOUD’s new IoT paradigm. Mr. Li Shusen, director of HUAWEI CLOUD IoT Service Product Dept, introduced HUAWEI CLOUD’s comprehensive IoT solutions. These solutions span from the Internet of Everything, digital twins, device-edge-cloud synergy, to industrial IoT, digital factory, and smart life. Working with partners from a wide range of industries, HUAWEI CLOUD has created a dedicated IoT zone in its cloud marketplace, tailoring IoT solutions to around 50 industries, such as manufacturing, lifestyle, transportation, smart city, campus, and warehousing.

In the coal mining industry, there are hundreds of types of equipment and over 30 service systems in a single mine. Refined management and real-time event sensing are challenging in such an environment. Modeling 200 types of equipment and 400 mining services while connecting 35 different OT systems on HUAWEI CLOUD’s industrial IoT platform, Hongliulin Coal Mine fully digitized from five aspects: people, wind, water, electricity, and coal. The benefits to Hongliulin Coal Mine were significant and included cross-system collaboration, end-to-end intelligent operations management, and a 97.7% intelligent mining ratio.

In Guangdong, China, HUAWEI CLOUD has helped customers and partners in manufacturing, biomedicine, and retail migrate to and build on the cloud. In the LED manufacturing base of Shenzhen, Leyard Opto-electronic used HUAWEI CLOUD’s IoT technology to collaborate different phases, from ordering, material preparation, production, to quality inspection and delivery, improving production efficiency by more than 20%.

In the wave of digital transformation, HUAWEI CLOUD is committed to building a ubiquitous cloud foundation for an intelligent world. In the four years since its launch, HUAWEI CLOUD has aggregated over 2.3 million developers, 14,000 consultation partners, 6,000 technology partners, plus over 4,500 products in its cloud marketplace. Guided by the principle of "Openness, Collaboration, and Shared Success", HUAWEI CLOUD has also announced its Macroverse aPaaS program, through which it offers Expertise as a Service. HUAWEI CLOUD invites more partners to join this program to drive digitalization of more industries.
