"This new normal has created an increased need for technology, especially in Indonesia – a key growth market for HP in Greater Asia. We are rising to that challenge by providing a wide range of support to ensure that our partners, customers and community in Indonesia can thrive and be ready for the future," said Fiona Lee, Indonesia President Director, HP Inc.
Supporting Indonesians as they Learn, Earn and Work from Home
HP Inc. has launched several initiatives aimed to keep Indonesians learning and working safely from their homes.
Working from Home
Creators working from home had the opportunity to participate in the HP Mentorship Project: Creators Connect, a platform that enables creators to connect and learn from director Joko Anwar, music producer Eka Gustiwana, director Angga D. Sasongko, and photographer Nicoline P. Malina. An extension of the program that previously has obtained over 4,000 submissions from creative industries across Indonesia, the initiative consists of four classes where creators can learn from filmmaking, ideation, music production and photography from industry experts. Select creators will also be showcased by HP Indonesia and will have their work showcase at Kreavi, while receiving an HP Pavilion x360 to help them create and connect.
To support local SMB businesses, the HP for Business platform was also updated to provide innovation and solutions, and tips on effective and efficient work from home experiences, with useful resources like HP LIFE becoming a nerve center for SMBs who want to adapt and thrive during this time.
HP Inc. has also upgraded software and resources for Indonesians to adapt to thrive as they operate out of their homes. In addition to bundled discounts and promotions for HP PC and print solution offerings through online partners like Lazada, Shopee, Tokopedia, BliBli.com, and JD.ID, HP Sure Click Pro will be offered free of charge for download on HP and non-HP devices given the unique circumstances companies are experiencing right now. This will be offered free of charge for download on HP and non-HP devices through September 30, 2020.
With a more pronounced trend of working from home, and less movement or travel, HP Inc. also supported customers through digital customer care options including remote, web, and field support consisting of 24/7 virtual agents, experienced engineers who are well versed with quick fixes to work-from-home issues, contact center access via phone and WhatsApp, and other self-service features. HP also provides nationwide pick up, repair and return services for cities where HP Authorized Service Center or Authorized Service Point are not available. Following the easing of the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), HP’s 12 service centers and 102 service points across Indonesia are now open while remote services continue to be available.
Learning from Home
To ensure that the younger generation in Indonesia could keep learning during this time, we launched HP Print, Play & Learn, a free online platform with curated print craft activities from HP Inc. Indonesia. Accessible via the website and the HP Smart App, Print, Play and Learn is suited for children aged 2 to 12 years old and offers exciting craft-making, mazes, dot-to-dot drawing, and hundreds of other printable puzzles and activities. To date, 42.255 Indonesians have visited the site via their laptops and smartphones to help children learn in a meaningful way at home, with the origami envelope currently the most favourite content.
In a bid to support learning for older learners who are on the cusp of entering the workforce, HP also started three programs that reach over 200 students between the ages of 15 and 25 years old from 95 schools across 8 cities in Indonesia. Create in collaboration with Junior Achievement, the programs aim to arm students with skills that they will need in the modern workforce through mentorship and masterclass lessons with experts from HP. These include mentoring and real-world business simulations in areas of digital marketing, branding and public relations, presentation skills, and research & development.
Keeping our SMBs and Partners Going
HP kept Indonesian SMBs going with the onboarding of 16 official online partners who are helping to bring innovation from HP closer to their fellow SMBs and end-users in Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, Sulawesi, West Java and Jabodetabek. With support from HP and Tokopedia, these SMB partners will have the opportunity to benefit from expertise, co-investment and guidance to take accelerate their business across both online and offline platforms as they ensure sustainability in an omnichannel retail environment. SMBs looking to adapt and survive during this time can also visit HP for Business, a platform that provides innovation and solutions, and tips on effective and efficient work from home experiences.
This year, HP Inc. announced a variety of relief initiatives aimed at arming its global channel partner community to effectively navigate the operational and financial challenges associated with COVID-19. In addition to providing a variety of financing and leasing options for end customers, the company will offer short-term, market and country-specific incentives for channel partners. Offers will vary by geography and are dependent on partner eligibility. HP Inc. also unveiled HP Amplify, a global channel partner program optimized to drive dynamic partner growth and deliver consistent end customer experiences. HP Amplify is built on a single, integrated structure to provide the insights, capabilities and collaboration tools needed to drive growth as digital transformation and customer purchasing behaviors continue to evolve. Providing Supplies for Frontline Workforce
HP Inc. print partners printed and donated masks and hand sanitizers to 12 cities in Indonesia and the DKI Jakarta police and created educational signages to help our customers on the frontlines provide accurate information on COVID-19.
HP Foundation also made a USD25,000 donation to Mercy Relief in Indonesia to support the COVID-19 response at the frontlines in Indonesia. The funds will be used by Mercy Relief to support the disabled and healthcare professionals through the set-up of 10 swab booths at referral and local hospitals in Makassar South Sulawesi Province. 500 food packages will also be provided to the disabled and their families in Surabaya, East Java.
The HP Foundation will also match donations from HP Indonesia employees to the community while budget lasts, with contributions received going to local Indonesian beneficiaries.
Upskilling and Empowering Our Employees
As employees worked from home, HP also focused on the well-being of employees as a workplace of the future. Employees were empowered for high performance and productivity through HP PC and print innovation including the HP Elitebook and HP Smart Tank products. Teams also implemented work-from-home best practices while participating in physical, mental and financial well-being programs via weekly HP Connect employee sessions.
Employees were also encouraged to upskill themselves in line with HP’s focus on continuous learning and having a growth mindset. In addition to having access to free courses from Coursera and LinkedIn Learning via HP Brain Candy, an internal learning platform, HP also launched Speak Digital, a program to accelerate digital transformation at all levels in the company.
