Google Will Increase G Suite Prices for both Basic and Small Business Edition

G Suite users for Basic and Small Business edition watch out! Google will increase their G Suite subscription prices. According to Google the increase will take effect on April 2, 2019 for those who are in Flexible plan while those who are on an Annual plan the new price will take effect on or after April 2, 2019 upon the renewal of their annual plan.

The New G Suite Pricing

In their recent announcement, the new G Suite subscription price will be as follows:

  1. For G Suite Basic Edition the price will increase from $5 per user per month to $6 per user per month.
  2. For G Suite Small Business Edition the price will increase from $10 per user per month to $12 per user per month.

The increase will take effect globally with some adjustments for certain regions.

The reason for the increase

In their announcement via the G Suite updates blog, Google enumerated a number of different new additions and value features in their G Suite platform which justified their price increase. Among these value added features are real-time conferencing through Hangouts, Real-time collaboration for Docs, Spreadsheet etc. among other improvements.
