Amazon Launches Worldwide-first of Prime Video Mobile Edition in India

Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition (PVME) is the new mobile-only plan for prepaid customers announced by Amazon and Indian carrier Airtel on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

PMVE subscription service starts at INR 89 per single user, it offers access to standard definition (SD) content for 28 days and includes 6GB of mobile data that customers can consume during the subscription period.

In addition, Amazon is offering a free month trial for PVME.

The other plan for PMVE will charge customers INR 299 but will offer 1.5GB of mobile data for each day of the subscription.

“India is one of our fastest-growing territories in the world with very high engagement rates. Buoyed by this response, we want to double-down by offering our much-loved entertainment content to an even larger base of Indian customers. Given high mobile broadband penetration in the country, the mobile phone has become one of the most widely used streaming devices.”

said Jay Marine, vice president, Amazon Prime Video Worldwide, in a statement.
