YouTube Tests New Feature that Allows Users to Buy Directly from Videos

It was announced that YouTube will be testing a new feature, a new way to shop on the video-sharing platform.

“We’re testing a new way for people to easily discover and purchase products featured in YouTube videos. Creators in this pilot can add certain products to their videos,” the company stated.

Furthermore, it was added by the company that the “viewers can then see a list of featured products by clicking the shopping bag icon on the bottom left corner of the video. “

And, viewers can explore each product’s page to see the product’s:

  • More information
  • Related videos
  • Purchase options

In addition, the company said that they are currently piloting the new feature with a limited number of creators.

And, the said feature is visible to users in the United States on:

  • iOS
  • Android
  • Desktop
