TikTok Unveils Total Number of US Users as Legal Action Looms

TikTok has 100 Million US Users

There are one hundred million (100M) Americans turn to TikTok for entertainment, inspiration, connection, and even livelihoods, as reported by the company themselves via their TikTok newsroom on August 24, 2020.

They also revealed that they have more than 1,500 employees across the US while there are 10,000 more jobs planned in other countries such as New York, California, Texas, Washington State and more.

TikTok Suing the Administration

However, other than publicizing the number of total TikTok users in the US, the company also has an even bigger revelation, which is, they are suing the Administration.

“Today we are filing a complaint in federal court challenging the Administration’s efforts to ban TikTok in the US.”

– TikTok, August 24, 2020

Earlier, on August 6, 2020, the US Administration has issued an Executive Order on Addressing the Threat Posed by TikTok, wherein the company strongly disagreed.

According to TikTok, it has the potential to strip the rights of that community without any evidence to justify the extreme action and without any due process.

Thus, the company stated:

“Now is the time for us to act. We do not take suing the government lightly, however we feel we have no choice but to take action to protect our rights, and the rights of our community and employees.”
