Samsung creates Quick Share as alternative for AirDrop

Samsung has finally created its own version of the AirDrop, which has always been a convenient sharing feature for users of Apple gadgets.

The brand calls its new sharing feature ‘Quick Share’ and it will be launched on it’s latest flagship phones: the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra. Moreover, Samsung said that Quick Share will allow you to instantly share files with your friends.

More on Quick Share

Like AirDrop, Quick Share will show you who among the people on your contacts list are nearby. But Samsung takes sharing to a higher level by allowing you to simultaneously send files to up to five devices through Quick Share.

The XDA Developers have screenshots of the new sharing feature’s interface which shows that like in AirDrop, you’ll have the option to choose whether you want to let anyone with compatible devices to share files with you or just those included in your contacts.

As of now, the only compatible devices are Samsung’s new flagship phones. But the company says that the sharing feature will also be made available in their other upcoming devices in the months to come.
