Walmart, the the largest retailer in the world, and TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, announced that they are partnering to bring us a first-of-its-kind livestream shopping experience.
“For the first time ever, we’re bringing you a LIVE TikTok shopping event!” said in one of the promotions prepared by the brands. The said event will take place this Friday, December 18, 2020 at 8:00 PM EST or at 5:00 PM PST at Walmart’s profile page on TikTok.
William White, the Chief Marketing Officer of Walmart U.S., stated on December 17, 2020, “We’re excited that we have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this innovation in a shoppable livestream – a first on TikTok in the U.S.”
During the livestream, the TikTok community can shop for Walmart fashion items featured in content from some of the most popular TikTok creators, without the hassle of leaving the platform.
On the one hour shoppable variety show, “Holiday Shop-Along Spectacular”, ten (10) creators are to show off their favorite Walmart fashion finds. And those who will tune in will be able to tap on a product they like during the event, making it easy for them to add to cart and check out the items that caught their attention.
Apparently, it is going to be an interactive event, but what more is that, White also revealed that it also features some surprises.
