Last September 2019, Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, one of the richest men in the world, made an announcement about The Climate Pledge which is a project to lead their company to become a carbon neutral company by the year 2040. And just today, Bezos announced another initiative. He stated in his Instagram post that he is committing $10 billion to exploring new ways to combat one of the biggest threats to our planet – the Climate Change. Bezos calls this $10 billion fund, the Bezos Earth Fund.

Still according to the Amazon CEO’s Instagram post, this $10 billion fund will begin issuing grants this summer. The Bezos Earth Fund will be used to fund scientists, activists, NGOs, and any efforts and even offers that could help in saving the world through battling Climate Change.

It has also been mentioned on his post that this global initiative will take collective actions from companies, big or small, organizations, and even individuals, but the billionaire still hasn’t disclosed through his Instagram post, which specific groups or individuals he will be funding in this project.
